Just had a Seinfeld moment with my grandma who JUST CAN’T conceive of somebody not liking me
on a warm spring evening i was standing in the shadows at an empty suburban intersection waiting to cross, when a lone car pulled up beside me stopping at a red light. i heard them before i saw them. teenage dream by katy perry bursted out of the open windows. inside the car four teenage boys screamed the lyrics in unison with remarkable passion. they knew all the words and they sang them like no one was watching. “let you put your hands on me in my skin tight jeans, be your teenage dream tonight”. after a few unforgettable moments i stepped under the street light and applauded them. suddenly noticing my presence, they immediately went quiet and stared downwards as the song faded out. the light had barely turned green when they made a screeching left turn down a dark side street and disappeared into the night.
